A website aimed at the super rich, VeryFirstTo.com, has confirmed that it has sold what is billed as the world’s most expensive holiday. The £1 million package deal promises to take the customer to every one of the planet’s Unesco world heritage sites, a trip that will take two years to complete.
The unnamed man from China who has signed up for the deal will visit more than 150 countries, fly business-class and stay in some of the world’s most luxurious hotels.
Marcel Knobil, co-founder of VeryFirstTo.com, said when the deal was first advertised he was not sure it would receive any takers, although he claims there have so far been 15 inquires and another tentative booking.
Other deals offered by the website that have failed to grab a buyer include starring in a commercial for £135,000 and black diamond nail polish priced at £160,000. Although little has been revealed about the buyer of the package deal, it is unlikely that he will be able to visit every Unesco heritage site because some may be impractical or unsafe.
In order to visit as many of the 962 sites as possible in two years, more than one will have to be seen every day. The £1 million price tag allows the holidaymaker to take a companion or partner.
